If you want to add the virus-neutralizing power of hydrogen peroxide to your routine without triggering a thyroid flare, use a standalone, properly diluted peroxide rinse separately from your saline rinses.
The Proper Dilution: Standard brown-bottle hydrogen peroxide from the pharmacy is a 3% concentration. This is too strong for the throat and can cause tissue burns. Dr. McCullough’s protocol instructs diluting it to a 1% solution.
The Recipe:
Mix 1 part 3% hydrogen peroxide with 2 parts clean water (for example: 1 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide to 2 tablespoons of water).
The Application: Take 2 tablespoons of this diluted 1% solution, tilt your head back, and gargle for 30 seconds, then spit it out completely. Follow with a quick rinse of plain water to remove any lingering taste.
Your Best Sequence for Daily PreventionTo maximize your defense while maintaining your excellent health status, use a two-step approach:
Step 1 (Nasal): Use your homemade buffered saline and baking soda solution (or your commercial Xlear Natural Saline Nasal Spray) to rinse and clear your nasal passages.
Step 2 (Throat): Use the separately mixed, diluted 1% hydrogen peroxide solution to gargle and sanitize the throat.
