Immunotherapy: The Battle Within | 2020 Documentary

Immunotherapy: The Battle Within” is a documentary film about the past, present, and future of cancer immunotherapy, a treatment that provokes your body’s immune system into attacking cancer cells.

This film shows how the first cancer immunotherapy treatment was invented by William B. Coley, MD in the 1890s. Dr. Coley, while working at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, had hundreds of documented cures of people with ‘incurable’ cancer in the early part of the 20th century. This film looks closely at why Coley’s treatment ended up being banned, and how cancer immunotherapy treatment and research disappeared for over 100 years. 

Fast forward to 2018, James P. Allison, PhD, a research scientist at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, wins the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his development of the world’s first immune checkpoint inhibitor, which is a type of cancer immunotherapy!

What happened? Why are we now seeing a resurgence of interest in immunotherapy? Who is using it around the world, and where is this treatment headed?

Immunotherapy: The Battle Within, explains how and why cancer immunotherapy was practically erased from history and is now at the very forefront of cancer treatment.

The film also takes you on a virtual tour of independent cancer clinics around the world that utilize variations of cancer immunotherapy to treat the dreaded disease.

Supply-Chain Slow Down (Oct 2021) ?

I keep hearing about supply-chain of products slowing down. People (like VP Harris) tell us to Christmas shop early. I don’t care about that, but want to be sure I’m stocked-up with my bulk food storage (see shopping list & bulk store locator links below). Just want to remind you to do the same. This seems to be an issue for middle America states, but it doesn’t hurt for us on the perimeter to be a bit preppy 🙂 And it’s fun!
