Anonymous Advice

One need not seek out a gifted individual to build confidence in God’s promises. Simply meditating upon scripture, searching for patterns in God’s Word, being still and waiting upon His whispers, or reading a comment from an anonymous individual out in cyber-land can awaken the most profound revelation within your soul.

I read the following anonymous comment following a brief video on faith. The video was just okay, but the uncredited comment from the viewer rocked my socks off. It touched me deeply. I hope it touches you as well.

Praying in Jesus name is not a formula which God must respond to and unlock healing. Using that phrase does not guarantee that whatever we’re praying for will happen. In fact, the most effective prayers for healing do not usually include this phrase because the person who’s praying and seeing answers has an understanding that authority is already given and their absolute confidence and trust is this – without any doubt that if God says it in His word, then it is true.

It is difficult in the hour of trial and pain and suffering to come to this understanding quickly. Some people may do that but I believe that the majority do not. To see healing, we need to stay in Christ all the time, stay in his word all the time, and stretch our faith.

The Bible teaches us that spiritual matters are built up, line upon line and precept upon precept. In another place in the Bible this concept is phrased like this: first the blade of grass, then the stalk then the corn. Today, we might phrase it this way: A little here a little there (things build up gradually as we gradually grow in our understanding, spiritual maturity and authority).

In the western world, this is all very difficult because belief in the supernatural runs contrary to everything, everywhere, all around us in the culture and our educational system. In lands where there is no medical field to fall back upon and where spiritual activity is seen via demons, there is a greater acceptance.

Belief is not just having a mental acceptance but it is a strong conviction, one of absolute trust and confidence in the word of God.
