Treatment for Viral Infections
Flavonoids have proven antibacterial and antiviral effects. Numerous laboratory studies have shown that certain flavonoids prevent cell replication of H1N1 flu, HIV, SARS, and RSV viruses. Further research is needed to determine how flavonoids work in the body against viruses, and whether they could be an effective preventative measure.
Many plant foods are rich in flavonoids, therefore, increasing fruits and vegetables in your diet is the easiest way to obtain them. These 10 foods are some of the best sources of dietary flavonoids available:
PS Brazil nuts are very high in magnesium, but also fat. Also prunes scored number 1 in the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) test, which means they resists diseases like heart disease, many forms for cancer, Alzheimerâs Disease, arthritis, stroke, allergies, chronic fatigue and aging in general.
Some vegans like to eat one Brazil nut and one prune each day!
Recent observational study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34724027/
Conclusions and relevance: Prior SARS-CoV-2 infection was associated with a statistically significantly lower risk for breakthrough infection among individuals receiving the BNT162b2 or mRNA-1273 vaccines in Qatar between December 21, 2020, and September 19, 2021. The observational study design precludes direct comparisons of infection risk between the 2 vaccines.

Professor Jay Bhattacharya is one of the famous voices to have emerged out of the pandemic. A vocal critic of lockdowns, his name became synonymous with the controversial Great Barrington Declaration, which called for an âalternative approach to the pandemicâ that would entail no lockdowns. Along with co-signatories Sunetra Gupta and Martin Kulldforff, the trio argued that public health strategies should instead centre on the âfocused protectionâ of at-risk groups while keeping society as open as possible so the healthy parts of the population could build herd immunity.
The declaration triggered a huge global debate, with critics arguing that many more lives would have been lost on account of the difficulty of shielding all those who were vulnerable. During this weekâs interview, Freddie Sayers challenged Prof Bhattacharya on what would have happened if his strategy was adopted, whether he has changed his mind in retrospect, and how his âfocused protectionâ have would worked with waning immunity and new variants?
Reader’s Comment: I am over 65 and I am much more afraid of living out the remainder of my days in this toxic political environment than I am of dying from COVID. I also resent people using my increasing frailty as an excuse to lockdown young people and ruin their chances of a normal life. Let them live and pursue their dreams. Let me assume responsibility for my own life.
