How to Build Collagen With Plants by Theresa Houghton

How Can I Increase Collagen Production Naturally?

Eating foods containing the amino acids and nutrients from which collagen is formed provides your body with the raw materials for making more collagen without supplements. All the components of collagen can be found in whole plant foods: beans and legumes, nuts and seeds, fruits and vegetables, and whole grains.

To get the full range of nutrients that support collagen production:

  • Consume enough protein for your activity level
  • Eat more leafy greens to increase copper intake[7]
  • Consume a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables to increase your intake of vitamin C and other antioxidants
  • Add hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashews, and other high-zinc nuts and seeds to meals[8]
  • Include beans, root vegetables, and whole soy products in your diet to increase your intake of hyaluronic acid, a component of the collagen in skin[9]

Additionally, you can preserve the collagen you already have by avoiding foods and lifestyle habits that increase free radical production or inflammation. To prevent damage:

  • Remove added sugars from your diet
  • Limit direct UV exposure
  • Don’t smoke, and stay away from secondhand smoke

Following healthy diet and lifestyle patterns, including consuming a variety of whole plant foods, supports your body’s innate collagen production. In the majority of cases, this should be enough to see the same benefits ascribed to collagen supplements. If not, talk with a knowledgeable physician to determine if you have an underlying condition that affects collagen production so that you can address and correct the root cause.

Identifying Antibody – Appears 100% Effective, STI-1499

https://www.biospace.com/article/sorrento-ids-antibody-against-covid-19-that-appears-100-percent-effective/

“We’re actually so impressed with the data,” Li said. “One of the antibodies is so powerful that at a very low concentration it is able to 100% completely prevent infection or inhibit the infection. In our studies, not even one virus escaped from the antibody.”

That was STI-1499.

[…]

“We anticipate having enough material to start a Phase I trial in patients in the ICU within two months. If that is successful, we will expand that trial using our cGMP facility which can produce 2,000 liters of material, which is enough for approximately 100,000 patients, based on what we think the dose will be,” Brunswick said.

The antibody is potentially both a preventative and a treatment. It prevents the virus from binding to the cell it wants to bind to, which means it can’t enter the cell and reproduce.

Treating Covid-19 in Ecuador

Clinical trial involving chlorine dioxide is currently under way, documented by the US National Library of Medicine at ClinicalTrials.gov. The study uses oral chlorine dioxide (rather than intravenous) and is entitled, “Determination of the Effectiveness of Oral Chlorine Dioxide in the Treatment of COVID 19.”

Read more about it here.

“covid-19 is not acute viral pneumonia impacting the respiratory system but rather an inflammation-based immunological response that leads to thrombosis (clotting in the lungs)”

There it is again, this time from Ecuador. Covid-19 seems to cause a disease of the endothelium (tissue which forms a single layer of cells lining various organs and cavities of the body, especially the blood vessels, heart, and lymphatic vessels). This can be very serious in the elderly and people with certain medical issues:

  • Hypertension
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Body Mass Index > 30%
  • etc…

SARS-CoV-2 Endothelial Function and Diet – part 2

Note that in the image ” vs __% ” represents percentage of general population with the condition.

The image specifically signifies that the following comorbidities were significantly higher in covid 19 (SARS-CoV-2) patients than in the general population:

  • Hypertension
  • Coronary artery disease
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Body Mass Index > 30%

The following comorbidities were at approximately the same level as they are in the general population:

  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea

This seems to indicate that cardiovascular Covid-19 comorbidities are more significant than pulmonary diseases.

How well a patient does with covid-19 (SARS-CoV-2) seems to be related to the level of oxidative stress in their body at the beginning of the disease.

This graphic emphasizes the negative dietary contributions:

  • High [processed] carbs (simple sugars)
  • High protein
  • Saturated fats (animal sources)

And counters this with the list of positive dietary contributions:

  • Whole grains
  • Nuts [in moderation]
  • Fruits & vegetables
  • Fish*
  • Legumes

*Note the plant-based alternatives to nutrients listed on image under fish:

  • n-3 PUFA found in ground flaxseed, walnuts, hemp & chia seeds
  • click here for plant-based protein sources
  • bio-active peptides (oats, soy, various beans, wheat, flax & hemp seeds, etc)

Nobel Prize-Winning Scientist Believes Lockdown Was Big Mistake

(Turn on subtitles, if desired)

(JUMP TO TIME 10:33 TO GET TO THE POINT.)

Dr. Deborah Birx has explained one of the reasons we have to be careful in public with this highly contagious disease is that a large number of Americans, even younger people, have multiple comorbidities (hypertension, obesity, diabetes, etc ). For them the course of the disease will be worse than for others. (And this indeed is the very reason I post Covid-19 issues on Project Waistline.)

However, Dr. Michael Levitt suggests that instead of lockdown we should promote:

  • FACE MASKS
  • HAND SANITIZERS
  • TOUCHLESS MONETARY TRANSACTIONS

Around time 21:43 he dives into Neil Ferguson’s paper (the publication that drove the strict lockdown approach). He believes less restrictive Sweden-type lockdowns would OVER TIME result in similar Corona mortalities.

He cites Socrates: Use your common sense instead of the rhetoric of leaders.

Follow-up w/ Epidemiologist Knut Wittkowski

He’s been run through the wringer since his earlier public comments. Some criticized him for not having his fresh research peer-reviewed before speaking publicly about it, but times like these call for unusual measures. His papers will be peer-reviewed later, we need to know what he’s finding NOW.

Yes, he speaks for an hour… and he’s worth listening too.
