Osteoporosis: The Truth About Women’s Bone Health – Dr. McDougall

By John McDougall, MD

Two-thirds of Women Have Weak Bones. Or Do They?

A large study published in the New England Journal of Medicine included 5,470 women from three communities forming a representative spectrum of women living in the US.1 Of these women, 1,255 were considered to have normal bones, whereas 4,215 suffered from osteoporosis or osteopenia. (Osteopenia is a milder loss as measured by the BMD and is due to the natural thinning of the bones that occurs as women age and does not result in unprovoked fractures.) The findings of this study mean that of all women over the age of 67 living in the US, 77% are in need of more testing and treatment for their “diseased bones.” How could this be?

Cancer Statistics during the Pandemic! NOT what the main narrative procl…

The first official data on cancer rates during the pandemic covering 2020 for incidence rates, the year where the healthcare services were most disrupted, and 2021 for death rates. The results are surprising and go against the typical narrative that if we would see an increase in these rates it would be due to the disruption of such services.

What we cover:
*Cancer incidence rates up to 2020 – biggest service disruptions
*Cancer death rates up to 2021
*Why the data is lagging behind
*The resulting trend does not yet support the most common narrative
*The pandemic merely elevated the ranking of cancer as a cause of death among the top reasons why Americans died

How to fall back asleep in the middle of the night

Is this guy “reading you mail”? He’s sure reading mine!

If you’re one of the millions of people who wakes up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back asleep, you’re not alone. Did you know that your body is biologically programmed to wake up throughout the night? While waking up in the middle of the night is common, we usually fall back asleep without even realizing it’s happened.

But for some of us, we wake up in the middle of the night…and we’re just…UP. And it can be incredibly frustrating. In this video, sleep expert, Dr. Michael Breus, offers some tips and suggestions for how to fall asleep faster, and how to get back to sleep if you wake up in the middle of the night.

0:00 Why do I wake up at 2-3am?
1:03 Don’t look at the clock
1:45 Non-sleep deep rest
2:30 Going to the bathroom?
2:58 4-7-8 breathing
3:58 What if I still can’t sleep?

😮 Michael Breus, Ph.D., is a double board-certified clinical psychologist and sleep expert. He’s been in practice since 1999 and helped thousands of patients improve their sleep. Dr. Breus has written five books on sleep and conducted over 1,000 interviews to the press and public.

Covid: Don’t Let Them Off The Hook

March 19, 2024

4 years ago, we were told we had “15 days to slow the spread.” Covid’s “15 days” turned into years, and the loss of our freedoms increased. It’s important we don’t forget what happened.

Politicians destroyed jobs and increased costs.

They made bad things worse with arbitrary rules, and on top of that, government probably killed people with its endless red tape.

Let’s remember politicians’ incompetence and their insatiable wish to gain power over us.  Let’s never give them power like that again.
